WALDEMAR PANASIUK Peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 Waldemar Panasiuk went to meet his Lord. Beloved husband of Wally, dear step-father of Kurt and Karin Christoph, loving Opa of Kristine, Miriam and Jonathan; he was predeceased by his parents Andreas and Helene Panasiuk, sisters, Fedosia, Anna, Natalie and Olga and brothers, Johann, Adolf and Benni. Waldemar was born on April 25, 1923 in Korostiatyn, Ukraine. Following the difficult war years, he came to Canada seeking a better life. He settled in southern Ontario and became the proud owner of a farm where he could fulfill his love of the land. He was also a busy housing and painting contractor. Waldemar married Wally in 1978 and moved to Winnipeg. He took much joy in the arrival of his grandchildren and left them with many precious memories. Waldemar was a valued employee of Wilmar Windows and retired to raise his beautiful roses. He is survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Germany and Australia. A special thank-you to Dr. Daeninck and all the nurses and medical staff involved with his care. Viewing will be held Monday, October 8, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m. at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Ave., with interment in Brookside Cemetery.
